THE FINAL

On Friday afternoon at 2 pm, the venue for the final was played in Din Ree restaurant.  Kieran had defeated Darren in the Round Robin sections and the match was of intense interest to both Northern Ireland and Welsh supporters.  Darren went into a 2-0 lead.  Kieran then retrieved a frame to make the score 2-1, but Darren snatched 2 frames, one when in the 4th frame he was 41 points behind with 43 points on the table and in the 5th frame he was 60 adrift with 67 points on the table and he won both frames which made a vast change to the outlook of the match to give him a 4-1 lead.  He went further ahead in the 6th frame to 5-1  Kieran then took frame 7, but Darren again came back on the final frame to win the match 6-2.

Both players seemed to find the lighting conditions difficult and unfortunately this seemed to upset Kieran more than Darren, but in the end Darren came out a worthy winner.

Mens winner was Kevin Van Hove from Belgium.

Ladies winner was Reanne Evans from England.
